Download and play your free printable game
An engaging classroom-friendly card game designed to help Idaho students investigate and understand the process of artificial vs. natural selection.

Free, no strings attached
Inspired by the development of Idaho's famous potatoes, this is a real card game from Lesson 1.6 Artificial Selection in our Idaho-aligned Genetics unit. Download the printable game below to give it a whirl. That's it, no strings attached!
Easy to play, lots to learn
Students compete to develop prize-winning potato varieties with different traits. After using the game to model artificial selection, they compare the process to natural selection and evaluate its benefits and drawbacks.
Aligned to the Idaho Standards
This unit was built with Idaho middle school classrooms in mind. Stile was approved by the Idaho Department of Education in 2025 as a core science curriculum.
