Over the last 12 months, we have been living through what will be the most historic global event since the Second World War. It’s scary, It’s confusing – especially for our youngest citizens – and misinformation is rife. It is more important than ever that our schools are armed with the tools, resources and training they need to guide our students. Not just to understand the facts of this pandemic, though that is of course important, but how to stop and critically evaluate those facts for themselves.
Stile creates world-class teaching and learning resources for science that are designed to engage students in real-world science and help them build the skills they’ll need to thrive. Today, almost half a million Australian students and their teachers use Stile in science.
To get a bit of a feel for what we do, check out our latest lesson on the influence of social media.
If you so happen to be one of the tens of thousands of science teachers who have used Stile in recent years, you are probably familiar with our famous Stile Concierge service.
Stile Concierge exists to help science teachers do less administrative work, and more teaching! The service is available to all teachers using Stile (those trialling or with a full subscription) and consists of two core offerings:
Planning support for science teachers
Converting tests, assessments or practical activities into Stile
As you can imagine, teachers LOVE this service.
Stile Concierge is an established offering within our organisation, and we’re looking for someone to own it; to really run with it. To live and breathe Concierge, and to be working with the sole intention of making teachers’ lives easier.
To be successful in this role, you are probably a science teacher with a few years’ experience under your belt. You have an in-depth knowledge of the science curriculum, and an understanding of how teachers operate. Communication skills are key, and you’re especially good when it comes to communicating over email. You have exceptional organisational and time management skills, and have no problem juggling a bunch of tasks at once. Importantly, you have a good eye for detail, and excellent quality standards.
As well as being incredibly rewarding – teachers will be seriously thankful for your work, and so will your colleagues – this role is super flexible. We’re looking to start this role as part-time (three to four days per week) and you will have a lot of input into what your schedule looks like. After an initial training period, we may be willing to negotiate some work from home hours.

Manage the ‘Concierge inbox’ and prioritise Stile Concierge requests
The most important part of the Concierge Coordinator role is managing and prioritising the job requests that we receive. These often come through our specific Stile Concierge email address, or they’re forwarded through our Sales or Account Management teams. You will be responsible for managing the Concierge email inbox and responding to enquiries or requests in a timely manner.
You will be required to prioritise incoming Concierge requests by considering factors including the value of the school’s subscription, the urgency of the request, or whether the school is trialling Stile or an established customer. You’ll also be required to determine an estimated completion date for each request.
Complete Concierge requests and delegate where necessary
As Concierge Coordinator, most of your time will be spent completing Concierge requests. These requests mostly fall into two categories:
We expect that all requests are completed to an exceptionally high standard. We have Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that need to be met, and we aim to ‘delight’ teachers wherever possible.
Every now and then, there may be a task that pops up outside of our standard offerings, and we’ll make a case-by-case decision on whether to assist with it.
There may be times within the year where we experience a particular influx of requests. For example, we often see a bunch of schools sending us their scope and sequence documents prior to the start of the school year. When this happens, you’ll be able to follow our processes and delegate tasks to your colleagues.
Track Concierge work
The Concierge Coordinator will be expected to keep detailed records of Concierge activity in our database.
Continually improve the Concierge Service and our internal processes
The Concierge Coordinator will be responsible for optimising our SOPs and ensuring our internal processes are efficient. You’ll assist your manager, Stile’s Head of Community, in analysing the effect Concierge has on our schools, and optimising the way we promote the service amongst our schools.
You’re almost certainly a teacher with a solid understanding of the Y7-10 science curriculum and a couple of years’ experience under your belt. If you have experience using Stile, that’s awesome!

You’re organised and have exceptional time management skills, and are comfortable juggling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
You have a strong customer focus. Specifically, you’re passionate about supporting teachers and improving STEM education.
You have great communication skills, especially when it comes to communicating via email.
You’re eager to learn. Super eager. You soak up feedback, incorporate it, and are constantly driven to be better.
You’re proactive. You strive to create efficiencies and improve processes.
This is a part-time, permanent role, preferably based in Melbourne. We’re looking for three to four days per week initially, but are willing to negotiate these hours, or evolve them over time.
